Walking coastlines in and around Atlantic City, Cairns and Venice
The New Jersey coast became ground zero in 2012
during Hurricane Sandy, referred to as the "1000-Year Frankenstorm."
In 2011 Cyclone Tasha hit the Queensland coast and resulted
in the most notorious flood in Australian history.
Venice hovers between recurrent flooding and drought,
which exposes and rots the wooden beams on which the city rests.
Over one-third of the total human population,
nearly 2.4 billion people, lives within 60 miles of an oceanic coast.
